Beyond Death

A sick man turned to his doctor,

as he was leaving the room

after paying a visit, and said,

"Doctor, I am afraid to die.

Tell me what lies on the other side".

Very quietly the doctor said,

"I don't know."

"You don't know?

You, a Christian man,

do not know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the

handle of the door, on the

other side of which came a

sound of scratching and whining,

and as he opened the door

a dog sprang into the room

and leaped on him with an

eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient,

the doctor said, "Did you

notice that dog?

He had never been in this room before.

He did not know what was inside.

He knew nothing except that

his master was here, and when

the door opened he sprang in

without fear.

I know little

of what is on the other side

of death, but I do know one thing:

I know my Master is there,

and that is enough.

And when the door opens,

I shall pass through with no

fear, but with gladness."

Perhaps you, too, have had a fear of death, of the unknown, of what lies beyond.

Your future is as bright as the promises of God. What are some of those promises? The Scriptures tell us:

"He will never ever leave you or forsake you."

"Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24)

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."                    (John 10:27,28)

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25,26)

If something happened to you today, do you know where you will spend eternity? You can know for sure that you have eternal life. It is a choice we make. If you are not sure, allow me to pray for you at this time.

"Lord Jesus, I thank you for the one reading these words at this very moment. This person is seeking answers on how to spend eternity with You. You promise that "if we ask, we shall receive." Lord, thank you that as this person asks, you hear and answer their prayer. In Jesus Name. Amen."

Now, as long as you mean it from your heart, please pray the following prayer after me,

"Lord Jesus Christ, I choose this day to believe on you. I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I forgive all who have offended me. If there is anything within me that is displeasing to you, take it from me that your miracle-working power can come into my life. Heal my relationships, Lord Jesus. I ask you to come into my heart and be Lord of my life so that when my time comes, I may spend eternity with you. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

What just happened to you when you prayed this prayer with me? Again, the answer is found in the scriptures:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us    our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."            (I John 1:9)

"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalm 103:12)

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (II Corinthians 5:17)

"Verily, verily, I say unto you., He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."  (John 6:47)
