We Miss You Mommy

We just celebrated

our first Easter

without you Mom

I thought we were doing okay

'Til I realized here comes

Another day

Mother's Day

Is fast approaching

I really don't know

What to say

To a motherless son

And a motherless daughter

For the first time

O Lord, sometimes this is so

overwhelming

Please show us the way

To celebrate this day

Like many other sons and daughters

That have traversed this path

Before us

That have managed to survive

The agonizing pain inside

To go on living

Without the nurturing, loving,

tender care of a mother

We will surely miss you Mom

Not just on this Mother's Day

But everyday

Because you are no longer here

To give us hugs and kisses

To receive our handmade cards

and gifts

That goes with celebrating

Mother's Day

But remember

Above anything else

Your unconditional love for us

Is an inextinguishable flame

That will forever burn in our hearts

And pass it on

We miss you and love you so much Mommy

Can we ever reciprocate you?
